I am going to show you how to make pillows from a shower curtain. Did you know that you can make pillows from almost anything? If you find something made from a fabric that you love, you can make some new pillow covers. You may even have something in your home that you can use for pillows. This is a great way to update your home without spending a lot of money.

Yes, while making your own pillow covers will save money, it also will save you space. I like to change up the pillows in my home often. Different seasons need different pillows, right? We have a one-level home without a lot of storage space. Storing pillows with their inserts takes up space. These pillow covers will be euro shams which are large. That is why I like pillow covers. You can change the cover out while storing only the old pillow cover and not the inserts too.
A problem that I was having with my bedding was I could not find any fabric that I liked. I could not even find any pillows in my price range that I liked. While shopping, I walked through the bath isle and my eye caught the pattern that I was searching for. It was a shower curtain. The material was perfect. Honestly, I think there are a lot of amazing shower curtains available now. $15 is a very good price for three euro shams.
Pillow Inserts
Let’s talk about the inserts first. I follow Brooke at Nesting with Grace and she is a master at styling beds. Go visit the link I just shared where she talks about pillows.mShe says you want your pillow covers to be two inches smaller than the inserts. That will make your pillow full and not sag. So a euro pillow is 26-inches x 26-inches. Meaning my pillow covers need to be 24-inches x 24-inches. I always use down feather inserts. I think they look more high-end.
A shower curtain is usually 72-inches by 72-inches which is perfect for three 24 inch wide pillow covers.
Instructions
Measure your squares using a ruler or measuring tape.
If you need to, you can use a seam ripper to remove the hems.
When making pillows, place the good sides touching each other before sewing. Meaning the sides of the fabric that you want to show is on the inside of the cover before sewing. As a result, when you turn the fabric inside out, it will be correct.
Sew three sides of the pillow together.
Turn the cover inside out. Insert the pillow insert into the cover.
I made three euro pillows from the beautiful shower curtain and they are perfect!

I would never have thought of using a shower curtain for indoor pillows, but yours look amazing. What a lovely find and it totally makes sense since you get so much fabric for every dollar spent. Pinning
