This is the best sweet dip for fruit that I have ever had. The recipe only has two ingredients. Sour Cream and Confectioners sugar which gives it a sweet and unexpected flavor. I have been serving this recipe for years.
Often at parties and events, fruit is served with a yogurt dip and I like to serve dishes that are different. I always get asked for the recipe when I serve this dip. People are usually surprised when I tell them the recipe.
Sour cream and confectioners sugar, 1 to 1/2 ratio. I know that may sound to simple to be good, but I am telling you this dip is delicious. You can add a little lemon zest to this dip, but I prefer it without it. This dip goes well at bridal or baby showers. Also, I like to keep these ingredients on hand in case I have some unexpected guests stopping by the house.
If I have several different fruits on hand, I will spoon this dip over the individual bowls of mixed fruit and serve for a dessert. I have found that it is better to use a good brand of sour cream, because it will make a thicker dip.
