The Bradford pear trees are white now. It looks like spring here to me. It is not very long before school is out for summer. I have always loved having my friends over when the kids are out of school and letting them play outside while we sit and have mom time. We say we are getting together for the kids to play, but it is really for us.
I feel like if I feed my friends yummy food, they will want to come over to my house. I am not trying to impress them, it is more like I am trying to buy them. I am trying to buy friends with good food. Don’t judge, it works!
We usually plan our get togethers on the spur of the moment, because we are all so busy. Actually, it is our kids that are so busy. I want to make us something to eat, and I want to make it easy and quick. Fruit is great to snack on why we sit on the porch and chat.
I get tired of that yogurt dip that usually is served with fruit. I love, love, love, this dip. Two ingredients. That’s it! Sour cream and confectioners sugar, 1 to 1/2 ratio. I know that may sound to simple to be good, but I am telling you this dip is delicious. You can add a little lemon zest to this dip, but I prefer it without it. This dip goes well at bridal or baby showers.
If I have several different fruits on hand, I will spoon this dip over the individual bowls of mixed fruit and serve for a dessert. I have found that it is better to use a good brand of sour cream, because it will make a thicker dip.
