Welcome back to Week Two of the One Room Challenge where I am creating a new outdoor space at our lake house.
One Room Challenge or the ORC is a challenge where participants get to show how they transform a space in a few weeks. Apartment Therapy is the media partner for the ORC. It is a bi-yearly challenge that will last 8 weeks. This will be my 3rd time participating in this challenge. You can see Week One with all of the before pictures and my inspiration for the space. I have chosen to do a space at our lake which makes it a little harder since it is 40 minutes from our home.
The first week after starting the One Room Challenge seems to be the hardest physically for me. Mainly, because you have to clean everything in the space before you start your projects.
Installed Outdoor Fans
We installed three outdoor ceiling fans last weekend.
The Windows
You know those projects that you have around the house that you put off forever… I finally caulked, filled in nail holes, and painted the trim that we should have done several years ago. Another reason to love the One Room Challenge. You get stuff done!
As usual, we took many trips to The Home Depot.
The Grass
We do not have year-round water. The water is coming in now and we should be at full pool in two weeks.
I had to move the rock bed and add a new landscaping edge. It looks like I am going to have to purchase a few bags of pea gravel to fill in some spots. I think adding new rocks will make the bed look better too. Also, we planted new grass and covered it with straw. Hopefully, we will have grass soon. Needless to say, this week kicked our tails.
