This easy art project with spray paint is so simple that your kids can do it. Actually, if I had younger children, I really would let them do it.
I really love that creating your own decor from random inexpensive things is so popular now, because I have been doing it for years. I hear people say that when they shop and buy new things it makes them feel good, but it doesn’t make me feel good. Making decor out of things I already have and for less money makes me feel good.
I had these two canvases in the garage from when I redecorated my daughter’s room. I could have purchased two new canvases, but I thought I would paint over these, and save the money. Would you expect anything different from me? If I did not have any canvases, I would have looked for some cheap canvases at the thrift store to paint over. You can usually find them for about $2 each.
I sprayed the two canvases with white spray paint and let it dry.
I sprayed the outer two stripes with gold metallic spray paint and let dry.
I sprayed the center with silver metallic spray paint.
On the second canvas, I sprayed the stripes with the opposite colors. You could paint the second one exactly the same way you paint the first canvas, and I still think it would look sharp, but I wanted them different colors.
I really enjoy creating my own easy wall art with spray paint that I have on hand instead of purchasing art.
