This recipe for easy fruit cream pie is so light and delicious. It is perfect for a summertime dessert.
On the days that our family works in the yard, I like to treat them with a great meal that evening. I usually grill out and we eat outside on the porch. That way I can look at the yard and be thankful that the project is over while enjoying a good meal. This is the reason that I usually have one of these pies in the freezer all summer long.
This pie recipe is one of my family’s favorite desserts. The recipe makes two pies. I always serve one the day I make it and pop the other one in the freezer for later. When I have unexpected company or when we want a dessert quickly, we take it out of the freezer. It only takes minutes to thaw and enjoy.
This pie filling only has three ingredients plus the fruit and lemon juice.
Ingredients
Pineapple tidbits
Peaches
Mandarin Oranges
Lemon Juice
Condensed Milk
Whipped Topping
2 Graham Cracker Pie Shells
It only takes a couple of minutes to prepare the two pies. When I have guests over for dinner, I usually prepare a big meal so this light pie is perfect for dessert. After prepping and cooking a big meal, it is nice to prepare such an easy and simple dessert.
You can serve this pie frozen if you like. One member of my family loves to eat the pie frozen because it is firm and slightly icy. Another member enjoys the pie stored in the refrigerator because it is so creamy. I love the pie either way!
If you would rather make your own whipped topping, you can.
Homemade whipped topping
Mix 2 cups heavy cream and 2 Tablespoons powdered sugar in a mixer with the whip attachment. Use the same amount of that in place of the Cool Whip in the recipe.
