I have teamed up with a group of DIY bloggers to bring you some inspiration for decorating for the Christmas Season. This week we are all sharing a DIY project for your front door and I am sharing my easy DIY embroidery hoop Christmas wreath.
I have shared many times that my love for decorating for Christmas definitely comes from my mother. She loved Christmas and she made the Christmas season special for her children. We made homemade divinity and played Christmas music while we decorated every year. She still has all of our homemade Christmas ornaments on her tree and they are over 45 years old. I lost her this past May and I did not think that I would be able to decorate my home. I thought it would make me too sad. I have decided that is not what she would want. She wouldn’t want me to cheat my family from making memories as we did so this challenge is really a blessing for me.
The Wreath
My love for thrifting came from my mother so I wanted to share how you can make Christmas decor without spending much money. I love embroidery hoop wreaths because of the simplicity of the wreath. Also, they are so easy to make. You can make this easy diy embroidery hoop wreath in just a few minutes.
Search the thrift stores for embroidery hoops or you can purchase these for a couple of dollars at the craft store. Look for something with pretty greenery so that you can take it apart and use the pieces in your wreath. You can find many uses for the rest of the greenery. You will need something to stick in the middle of the wreath. My thrift store had plenty of things to choose from. Better yet, go through the Christmas decor that you already have for a center piece.
Glue the reindeer to the embroidery hoop.
Tie your greenery to the hoop using wire such as floral wire.

Love it!! What a great idea to shop at a thrift store for supplies!! It’s just lovely!
The little reindeer looks like a smaller version of a reindeer head my mom made in a painting class many years ago. She had even added a musical lighted nose too.
