Wood pedestal bowls are everywhere right now. Many tables and bookshelves that I see on Instagram are styled with these bowls. The bowls look beautiful with a strand of wooden beads spilling out.

DIY Wood Pedestal Bowl

I love pedestal trays, stands, and bowls. The warmth and the texture of wood decor look beautiful on counters and tables.

Use small trays and pedestals for kitchen items that are used often.

Did you know that you can make these pieces for only a few dollars? Here’s how.

DIY Wood Pedestal Bowl

Thrifted items for pedestal bowl.

 Instructions

  1. You need an item to use for the pedestal and a bowl. You may have some of the items already at home that you can use. Candle holders work great for the pedestal. I found the holder for 99 cents and the bowl for $2 at a thrift store. It doesn’t matter if they match because you can sand them.Sand the bowls

2. Sand the candleholder and bowl with sandpaper. I used 60 grit sandpaper on mine. Wipe the dust off well.

glue the items together.

3. Glue the bowl to the pedestal with hot glue, glue, or wood glue. Hot glue is the least strong but it is more easily removable if you want to be able to separate the pieces.

Before I show you how to make the beads, I want to show you another pedestal bowl.

This bowl was made the same way and it looks like it came from a designer store.

glue pedestal bowl and candle holder

Glue the silver bowl to the top of the candle holder and spray paint. Easy and cheap!

Wooden Bead Garland

You can purchase wood bead garlands already made. Also, you can purchase the beads to string your own wood bead garlands. If you want to save a ton of money by making as many garlands as you want, purchase one of these.

Beaded car seat cover used to make diy christmas tree ornaments.

I scored my wood bead car seat cover at a thrift store for a couple of dollars.

Take the seat cover apart with scissors.

Thread the beads on a string the length you desire.

spray paint beads

You can spray-paint your beads any color you like.

More projects you can make with beads from the car seat cover.

Your pedestal bowls are beautiful. I love the wooden one. It looks like something you would buy from the local artists in Mozambique. And that tip of where to get wooden beads. OMW!!!! Yes!!!! I’m going to save so much money

Love this wood pedestal. Never thought of how easy it would be. And the wooden beads are a great idea, too.

This craft is so timeless and classy. A simple pedestal wood bowl is useful in any room. I will have to actually stop and look in the thrift store wood section. Thank you
