$100 Room Challenge

This is the $100 Room Challenge Week 4. This is a challenge where a group of bloggers committed to makeover a room while not spending more than $100. I am so thankful to Erin from Lemons, Lavender, & Laundry for putting this together because this is my kind of challenge. The great thing is that we have 5 weeks in March so we didn’t have to push ourselves so hard this week. I have two more blogger challenges going live this week so I took it easy on my powder room.

Let’s recap…

Before picture of my powder room for $100 room makeover challenge.

This is a bad cell phone photo but the bath before the makeover is dark and needs some TLC.

I painted the vanity white and added aluminum sheets to the drawers.

I have painted the powder room vanity bright white. The color is “Dove White” from Benjamin Moore. I cut and added a DM aluminum metal sheet to the front of the drawers. You can view the tutorial here.

$100 Room Makeover Week 4

This light fixture was in the house when we purchased our home but it was brass gold. I had spray painted it black many years ago and now I am going to paint it metallic silver. I am also going to spray painted the towel holder and the toilet paper holder metallic silver

We purchased the wood for our board and batten walls last week. I had planned on putting the boards up by myself but my husband started on the bathroom before I had a chance so I just rolled with it and let him do it all. Before I knew it, he had installed all the boards.

$100 Room Makeover

I patched the nail holes in the boards with wood putty and sanded the boards with a 120 sanding block.

$100 Room Makeover

He caulked the gaps between the boards and the walls so that it would look cleaner, and I sanded and painted over the caulk.

$100 Room Makeover

The boards are ready to be primed and painted which I plan on doing this weekend. I will post a tutorial of all the supplies we used and step by step photos when we complete the board and batten walls. I will paint the boards and the walls from the board and below Dove White this week. Be sure and check out the other bloggers progress.

If my husband was on a roll getting the boards up, I would have let him finish up as well 🙂 It’s going to look amazing when it’s done! Can’t wait to see everything come together next week!
