$100 Room Challenge

Week 3

This is the week 3 for the $100 Room Challenge and I am hoping to be finished next week even though we have an extra week in the month to complete the challenge. I am so thankful to Erin from Lemons Lavender and Laundry for putting this challenge together! One thing that I am excited about is that I have managed to stay under budget while adding value to my home.

Let’s review this makeover from the beginning.

Bathroom Before

I painted the vanity white and added aluminum sheets to the drawers.

I painted the vanity white and I added the DM aluminum sheets to the drawers ($10). I added the original drawer pulls back onto the vanity.

I painted the bottom of a thrifted basket metallic silver to give it an updated makeover.

I used the same basket that I was using because it fit the space so well. I updated it with metallic silver spray paint. I covered the basket where I did not want to paint so that it would be protected,

I painted the bottom of a thrifted basket metallic silver to give it an updated makeover.

I gave it two good coats of spray paint using my spray shelter from HomeRight.

I removed the paint and I was excited to see that the tape and the plastic covered the basket perfectly.

I also gave the mirror a coat of primer. I am planning on painting it metallic silver but I have purchased a new mirror that I might use if the budget allows. I will have to wait and see.

DIY Board and Batten

My husband and I purchased wood for the board and batten walls at Lowes. I swear, we do our best research on our phones for a project while we are in the aisle at Lowes (every single time)! We think we are entering the store with a solid plan, and it never works out that way. We spent $50 and realized we over bought the wood so I will get back to you all on how much the board and batten wood will cost. We know it is under $50!

Great progress. Can’t wait to see the board and batten up. I’m the same way with projects…I always reevaluate when I’m standing in the store!

Sherry, using the DM aluminum sheet is such a great idea. I would’ve never thought of that. Love how you updated on the basket with paint.

I can’t wait to see the board and batten walls. My husband and I do the exact same thing with researching for a project while in the store. Lol.

You sound like me 🙂 I’m always standing in the aisle looking at my phone trying to figure out what on earth I’m doing. The basket looks great. Good luck with the board and batten.
