Welcome back to the $100 Room Challenge-Week 2.
$100 Room Challenge
The $100 Room Challenge is a bi-yearly challenge that is created by Erin from Lemons, Lavender, and Laundry. A group of bloggers have to completely transform a room but must not spend more than $100. This small budget demands creativity, DIY projects, and bargain shopping. When you think that one can of paint can cost almost half your budget, you have to really brainstorm to make this budget work. This is my kind of challenge and it is the fifth time that I have participated.
I got a lot of work done this week. The room that I am making over is at our lake house. The house is about a 45-minute drive from where I live. So far, I have worked a total of 3 separate days at the house.
Projects I worked on
First, let me say that I can’t show you the projects that I completed because that will give away the room.
Recovered a chair
Let’s be honest. Every bedroom needs a chair or a treadmill to hang the clothes on that are A. To clean for the laundry basket and B. Not clean enough to be hung back up. Just kidding.
Before
I purchased this little chair from the thrift store about 7 years ago. The chair has been sitting in our thrift store donation pile. After seeing this chair from Arhaus, I pulled my little chair out of my donation pile. Believe it or not, I had a fur blanket in the donation pile also.
I am not doing a tutorial on recovering the chair because I just winged it. Reupholstering is hard so I usually do not attempt it.
Honestly, this chair was very easy to recover. By using a furry material, the seams did not show.
I ran out of staples to finish the bottom of the chair but here is what it looks like now. I took this picture at night with the lights on so the colors are not accurate. The room is not greenish-yellow.
Painted a landscape
I am not an artist at all but I have found that some art is easy to recreate. This is a great way to get art at zero cost.
Check back next week for more DIY projects and check out the other blogger’s rooms.

Um, I beg to differ with your statement that you’re not an artist. It looks to me like you might be but you just didn’t know it! And I love the recovered chair, that furry cover is so cute. Can’t wait to see the rest of the projects!
