$100 Room Makeover Reveal

The $100 Room Makeover Reveal is finally here and I am so excited over my new room. A group of bloggers were challenged to makeover a room in their home, and they can’t spend more than $100. Challenge accepted!

Do you know what the best part is? My powder room smells like a brand new house with fresh wood and fresh paint. I really worked hard on this room using power tools and doing a lot of painting. The hardest part of this makeover was trying to get photos of a tiny powder room with no natural light!

Before

This powder room had been neglected for years. When I first heard of this challenge, I knew which room I would do. A powder room is very challenging to decorate but I really wanted this room to be pretty for my guest. I ended up spending $55 dollars in total for this makeover. First, I used things that I already had but I am going to add in all the cost even though I shopped my home and used items I got for free to show you that you can makeover a room for under $100. Final cost is at the bottom of this post.

The Vanity

The first thing I did was paint the vanity white. You can see more about the vanity makeover.

I always have white paint leftover from projects. I painted the vanity white and added aluminum sheets to the drawers.

I cut and glued aluminum sheets that I got in a swag bag from a DIY conference to the drawers of the vanity to make the vanity stand out and look more high-end.

Spray paint the bottom section of the basket that was already in the bathroom to dress it up.

I spray painted the light fixture and all the hardware with silver metallic paint. Don’t ever worry about spray painted hardware because it is easy to remove the paint using the slow cooker method. Search for it on Pinterest if you ever need to remove paint from hardware. It works!

$100 Room Makeover Reveal

We purchased wood at Lowes for $40 to make the board and batten wall. I really think this will make the powder room unique and gorgeous. You can see more of the board and batten here.

The decor

I painted the boards with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint. The primer and the paint was $15 for a quart of Benjamin Moore “White Dove”.

My original mirror is painted Silver using the Metallic paint from DecoArt. This color of this paint is a beautiful light silver which I love.

I purchased this rug for $1.95 and a second-hand store that gets rugs with flaws. You can barely tell the far edge has a flaw.$100 Room Makeover Reveal

I purchased the deer head from Hobby Lobby and I have had it for about 2 years.  Always shop your house first.

I needed something else for over the toilet so I went out to my garage to see if I could make something.

I found this doily and picture old picture frame so I glued the doily to the frame with my glue gun.

I added a thrifted vase of flowers from my garage and I think it looks perfect. I spent $55 but if you had to purchase the items that I already had or that I had given to me the total would be $77

Supplies

Wood for board and batten $40

Aluminum Sheet from Michaels $10

Benjamin Moore quart of White Dove paint $15

1 quart of primer $8.50

rug $2

doily $1.50

I do not remember how much I paid for the deer head because it was purchased over 2 years ago.

In conclusion, I enjoy this powder room because I did not spend much money and it is beautiful.

Total Cost $77.00

Wow, that doesn’t even look like the same room at all. I love every detail, the metal on the vanity and that mirror, killer! I wish we’d done board & batten in our guest bath instead of the beadboard. There’s no way my hubby would let me change it now but I can dream 🙂

Oh, and I have a bag of old doilies that my great grandmother and grandma made. Your picture frame would be perfect for them. Maybe as gifts for my sisters 🙂
