Welcome back to Week 3 of the $100 Room Challenge-Guest bedroom makeover.

The $100 Room Challenge

The $100 Room Challenge is a bi-yearly challenge that is created by Erin from Lemons, Lavender, and Laundry. A group of bloggers have to completely transform a room but must not spend more than $100. This small budget demands creativity, DIY projects, and bargain shopping.

I got a lot of work done this week. The room that I am making over is at our lake house. The house is about a 45-minute drive from where I live. So far, I have worked a total of 5 separate days at the house.

Inspiration for Guest Bedroom

I love vintage pieces and I am going for a vintage look for this room.

Projects

Painted the bed black.

I would love to have a new bed and I thought about looking for one at the Thrift Store. After looking at this bed, I knew I could save budget money by painting the existing bed. I am so glad that I did.

First, I want to tell you that the floors in the lake house are stained concrete floors. I get questions about the floors. There is a tutorial for the floors here.

Painted the bed black

I tried Fusion Mineral Paint for the first time and I am very impressed with it. You do not have to use a topcoat with this paint. The coverage is amazing.

Pillows

DIY No Sew Valance

Pillows were made for the bed.

cut the valance

While thrifting, I found an old valance and the material will be perfect for the look that I am going for. I also used some thrifted material for pillows. You can see the tutorial for the pillows in this post.

Old Clock

I painted an thrifted clock.

Since I need some old vintage pieces to style the room, I used Rub and Buff on a thrifted clock.

Purchased an old Table

$100 Room Challange-guest bedroom

The old table came from a Thrift Store. I thought I would probably have to paint the table because of the damage. My table cleaned up beautifully and I didn’t have to paint it. It is gorgeous but you have to wait until next week to see it styled.

Wall Treatment

I am working on a wall treatment this week and finishing styling the room.

Recovered Chair

The chair was finished this week. Check back next week to see the final room reveal.

Budget

Fusion Paint $23

Table $20

Clock $3

Valance $3

You have gotten so much done! I have heard great things about the Fusion paint but haven’t tried it myself yet. The bed looks awesome black.
